POST NUMBER 100 Speed Paint!!!
Hey everyone, finally made my 100th post!!! So this morning I did a quick 20-30 minute speed paint of a desert landscape before going to bed. I really like the blue and orange color contrasts. My procedure is the same as my previous speed paintings with Albert Bierstadt except this time I used an actual photograph to deconstruct myself. Enjoy!

Liberico Menu UI Version 2
Version 2, still trying to find a design I like. The Deus Ex is an inspiration for this one. The dark orange color gives a hint of distrust and deceit which is are tactics the KRM engages in. I might have to move the menu to the right and add more dock panels on the left because this mock up looks almost identical to what Deus Ex has.

Double Speedpainting Friday!!!!
So today I'm in a pretty good mood so I decided to do two speed paintings of Albert Bierstadt's pieces. As a fan of westerns, I love the theme he depicts in his works. His lighting is phenomenal, so I decided to follow Noah Bradley's practice routine by dissecting the colors and values seen in Bierstadt's paintings.
So for each painting I spent about 20-30 minutes blocking out and perhaps another 10 minutes to touch up. Like my previous speedpaintings, I mix the colors without extracting them directly from the original paintings. They are by no means finished, but you at least get a feeling by looking at them. I really like the one with bisons, the sound of hooves and dirt being thrown in the air is vivid on my mind. Anyway, enjoy!

Master Color Speed Paint Studies
So I've been watching Noah Bradley's videos on dissecting paintings by classical masters. He usually paints these small thumbnails in a short amount of time to develop sensitivity to colors. In these studies, I pay close attention to the color contrasts used by Albert Bierstadt, a German-American painter known for his landscape paintings with a western theme. I really like the gold, orange, and muted green tones in the piece I dissected. Here is what I did in roughly 30 minutes. The larger painting is Bierstadt's the small thumbnail is mine. I paint these zoomed out so that I focus more on colors instead of details.
Top: Albert Bierstadt, "Looking Down Yosemite Valley"
Bottom: My quick color study of his painting.
I'm liking the colors, maybe I can add more blue to the rock formation on the right. On a whole, I'm somewhat satisfied with what I have in the alotted time. Stay tune for more!

Map View
A new desert map for Liberico in Aerial View. We are thinking about combing our city map, harbor map, swamp map, and the new desert map into one world.

Liberico City Concept
Something I did for a Liberico level, a futuristic/modern mix city. I plan to add people to the concept later to show scale, the person who originally wanted the concept told me to not add people XD.

Hand Drawing Contest Submission
So I entered a contest for a Deviant Art group called Premium Members. The theme was "Hand Drawings" where artists take their hand prints and create a piece of art work around it. Here is my concept: The Prehistoric Hand Print.
Update: I was just notified on Deviant Art that I won the contest. XD Yaaay
